New this year, a selection of DTTW films will go on to compete in the DTTW:KC, which takes place at the AMC Theatres in Kansas City, MO on August 27th. The showcase will be hosted by Wichita-native Sarah Kallail, and the films will be VIP live critiqued by our regional industry professionals judges. “DTTW:KC is designed to connect the Wichita and Kansas City filmmaking communities, cross-pollenate talent and spark collaboration,” said TFA Executive Director Lela Meadow-Conner. “We are extremely grateful to AMC Theatres for their generous support of this venture.”

The New York Film Critics Series® (NYFCS®), has partnered with Tallgrass & CreativeRush to feature the winning film of their Down to the Wire 24-Hour Film Race Kansas City Showcase on August 27, 2016.
The film will be featured prior to the monthly NYFCS® National Screening in approximately 55 theaters and seen by more than 7,000 audience members.

Sarah started her career at KWCH, the CBS affiliate in Wichita and spent a few years living in sunny Los Angeles. There, she landed a job at CBS2 as a writer/producer and was inducted into the Writer’s Guild of America. Currently, she’s loving her job with the Kansas City NBC affiliate, KSHB. She works in creative services as a producer. Sarah missed her friends and family, so she moved back to the midwest, decided to get cancer, then write all about it. She loved sharing her story and her blog has readers from all over the world. She’s healthy now and in the process of writing a book about her experiences and her tumor named Walt.
Michael is the Director and Partner of OUTPOST WORLDWIDE Kansas City. With a background in fine arts and broadcast journalism, Michael has been producing, shooting and directing commercials, documentaries and videos for over 25 years. He is equally at home in content and creative development, or on location with an HD camera “getting the job done” anywhere in the world. With production experience on every continent except Antarctica, for Michael the world is “truly a studio.”
Justin is an Executive Producer at Hint – a KC based creative content & experience design shop, an Independent Spirit Award-nominated, and Gotham Award-nominated film producer. His next film is Anthony Onah’s debut feature, DARA JU, which has been supported by the Sundance Institute, Ford Foundation, IFP, and Film Independent. He lives in Kansas City with his wife, two kids, and his cat, Dude.
