Weekend Moment Madness
We planned to burn some gift wrap in the oven for one of our scenes. About 15 minutes before we shot that scene, my mom said she was concerned she’d forget the prop was in there, try to use the oven and burn the house down. Shooting got delayed and sure enough, it wasn’t until the oven was preheated to 450 for pizzas before mom realized she was doing the exact thing she’d been worried about: burning our props off camera and catching the kitchen on fire. All’s well that ends well. We still got to light the kitchen on fire for our scene. The team had a blast. The toughest part was keeping them all from eating the props prematurely. We did eat them eventually.
